What issues might BAS help you with?

Potentially, anything where having an independent advocate - an ally - might help you to get your points of view across. Recent examples include helping you:-

  • at appointments with professionals
  • access other organisations
  • overcome housing problems
  • at tribunals and in court
  • with education and employment problems
  • with appeals regarding Medical Treatment, Sectioning, Diagnoses, or Care Packages
  • with correspondence
  • with appeals regarding State Benefits
  • with Child Protection, and other, family concerns
  • with problems regarding gas, electric or other services
  • get your voice heard and your wishes and needs acknowledged
If in doubt, as to whether your problems are appropriate for advocacy, please ask. If we cannot help, directly, we might be able suggest another organisation that can.

See our Annual Reports for issue-based breakdowns.
